Namo Amitabha, I am the founder of Ching Tu Tsung located in Second Life. My in-world name is Tinkerbell Placebo. It's my small attempt to share the Buddha's Pure Land Dharma.

Ching Tu Tsung is not affiliated with any other Pure Land group in SL in any way. 

Welcome to Ching Tu Tsung. I would like to explain

the purpose and mission of this group. This is an independent lay group for all people, regardless of their current beliefs or lifestyle, and is open to all respectful seekers. As such the founder/owner make no claim to any titles, such as leader or teacher. As the teachings are not my own, my background or past training are unimportant. Ultimately these are roles we need to fulfill within ourselves. I am only here to facilitate the group and point to the truths that I also try to grasp in my own life.

As a lay movement based mainly on, but not limited to, the Pure Land teachings of Shinran Shonin, it is the Groups mission to share and practice the universal message of the Pure Land Dharma as taught by the historical Buddha. No matter where you are in your quest, no matter what your status is in life, there is a way for every being to achieve meaningful growth and eventual enlightenment.

The Dharma taught by the Buddha has many doors. This is one among many. The group claims no affiliation with any modern organization or teacher except in the shared goal to show all beings the message of the Buddha as taught by the Buddha himself, the great saints, bodhisattvas and masters of the past, whose message is still shining bright, as the Dharma shines forever like a brilliant diamond. The spirit of freedom offered in the Pure Land path is what we strive for.

The group presents no new teachings nor mix the Pure Land teachings with other practices. The Pure Land message is a path unto itself that is very well suited to this age as foretold by the Buddha. Many great masters from other Buddhist traditions advised their students to also add the Nembutsu or Buddha Name Recitation practice to their lives for they knew that it was easy medicine to take and would assure their rebirth in the Pure Land and lead to eventual liberation.

The group seeks no converts but only to share. We accept and respect all other traditional schools of Buddhism. The question as to whether the Pure Land teachings are meant to be read as a literal or a symbolic truth is not a debate the group will enter into. Each seeker must decide this for themselves.
